Unger Family Farms Newsletter 2018 –
Preorder your pastured chicken now!
Hello, all! We are excited for this new growing season. We are taking orders now for pasture raised chicken and turkeys. Orders need to be in by the first week of April for June pickup. Fall orders need to be in by August for October pickup. Turkey orders are needed by August for week of Thanksgiving pickup.
We will be offering turkeys again this year. These will be 16-20 pounds and would be available one to two weeks before Thanksgiving. These will be raised similar to our broilers on pasture. Fresh air, exercise and grasses along with non-GMO grain are key to a high quality tasting bird. These birds are some of the most tender turkey we have ever eaten.
Pasture diversity and a higher quality of soil produces a healthier meat, this in turn equals healthy people. At our farm our first focus is to improve soil health. When the soil is healthy the animal will be also. Animals are a useful tool to improve, not degrade soil.
